Popular activist, Reno Omokri has made a comment about the recent prediction that the price of petrol might flare up should subsidy be removed.
It is no longer news the prediction that the price of petrol might rise up to as high as ₦1000 per litre if the subsidy regime ends. As contained in a report by Punch, the Director of Department of Petroleum Resources, Sarki Auwalu acknowledged that subsidy was gulping the nation’s money. He further stated that should the subsidy be eliminated without alternative fuel available for Nigerians, then the price of petrol would likely flare up.
As usual, This prediction by Auwalu caused uproar and verbal debates among Nigerians. So many persons argued that the predicted price is outrageous and capable of cracking down the country’s economy.
Reno who spoke via his Twitter handle wrote as follows “This ₦1000 per litre fuel price being floated by the Buhari government is a joke taken too far!”
