2023: How Tinubu candidacy will affect APC’s chances – Muhammed Buhari
Muhammed-Bello Buhari (MB Buhari), a public affairs commentator, on Saturday said majority of the Northern masses “do not care” about the religious affiliation of Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 election.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that MB Buhari stated that most northerners see ethnic extraction first before religion.
According to him, “there’s this stereotype northern Muslims have for southern Muslims”. However, he emphasised that their disposition is not due to intolerance or hatred.
“What my Christian brothers and sisters failed to understand is the fact that the majority of the masses here in the North do not care whether Tinubu is a Muslim or Christian, what they see is simply a Southern candidate. There’s this stereotype northern Muslims have for southern Muslims, it’s this same consideration that’s making the most of northerners to be indifferent about the prospect of a Muslim-Muslim ticket.
“But it’s never about intolerance or hatred or any lack of sense of brotherhood,” Buhari wrote on his Facebook page.
