Ogiame Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri, has stated that only God would decide who will be the future governor of Delta State.
The Itsekiri monarch made the statement while hosting a high- powered delegation of the Ijaw for Governor 2023 Lobby Team, led by former Police Affairs Minister Alaowei Broderick Bozimo, who paid him a courtesy visit in his palace in Warri.
The Ijaw nation, on the other hand, was encouraged by the traditional ruler to prepare their best and present their strongest arguments in order to produce the next governor of the state in the next political dispensation.
” Bring your strong arguments, ” the Olu of Warri remarked. Make the finest possible preparations. But, as much as you can, welcome God’ s movement once you perceive it. And everything will be well with you. We consider you to be our brothers.
” Delta State is in God’ s hands; He is interested in who becomes governor, ” he stated. I feel the cycle has come to a stop, as governors have emerged from all three senatorial zones.
” My hope for you is that we collaborate with God as He does the shaking, filtering, and purifying, because I am confident that once that individual emerges, the entire state will accept. ” And it will make our journey, our ascent, better as a result of our acceptance. ”
” My appeal to every single one of you as we go towards 2022 and 2023 is to open your hearts and align your hearts to what God is doing, ” the Olu of Warri told the visiting Ijaw delegation.
The monarch noted that Delta State is critical to Nigeria’ s success, saying that ” if Delta State gets it right, Nigeria will get it right so easy. ”
Earlier, Alaowei Broderick Bozimo, the leader of the Delta Ijaw for Governor 2023 Lobby Team, revealed that the visit was to seek the monarch’ s blessings since the Ijaw nation has expressed interest in providing the next governor of Delta State in 2023.
He also wished Ogiame Atuwatse III well on his fortunate succession to his forefathers’ kingdom.
