2023 Presidency: PDP Chieftain Names 2 APC Leaders Who Can Make His Party Lose Again

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Segun Sowunmi, has named the APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state as the two credible threats to his party’s chances in 2023.

Sowunmi said this when he appeared as a guest on Channels TV on Wednesday, July 21.

It was gathers that the PDP Chieftain said he doesn’t see President Muhammadu Buhari as a threat to the opposition party’s chances of taking over the presidency in 2023.

Sowunmi also ruled out the president’s chances of succeeding as a candidate in any election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He further claimed President Buhari won in 2015 and 2019 because of the support of Tinubu .

The politician also urged Nigerians to begin to get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) and make better decisions come 2023.

Meanwhile, the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has faulted Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for alleging that President Muhammadu Buhari planning to return to power in 2023.

A spokesperson for the party, John James Akpanudoehede,told the Nation that the Buhari does not have 3rd term agenda as claimed by the PDP, The Nation reported.

Akpanudoehede said the APC is a disciplined party that has never conceived the idea of any unconstitutional means of holding on to power.

The Punch reported that the APC was presciently stabilising the party.

He stated that the ruling party does not want to allow individual ambitions to derail the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Also, the All Progressives Congress has said that at the appropriate time it would come up with a consensus and agreeable presidential candidate that will fly its flag in 2023.

Premium Times reports that the national secretary, APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), John Akpanudoehede, stated this in a statement issued on Tuesday, July 20, in Abuja.

It was gathered that the statement was in reaction to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s recent allegation that President Muhammadu Buhari had a self-succession plan.

Daily Trust also reports that the APC scribe, however, stressed that the party would not allow individual ambitions to derail the Buhari administration, ahead of the 2023 presidential poll.
