24 Hours After The FG Delegates Visited Borno State, See What The Nigerian Airforce Achieved

It will be very difficult for the good people of Zabarmari and the whole Borno people to forget the unfortunate incident that happened to them few days ago, when the Boko Haram Terrorists group slaughtered 43 farmers in their rice field.

The war against Boko Haram has been going on for 11 years and even though the Nigerian Army has technically defeated the insurgents, they are obviously still coordinated to the level of masterminding attacks against Nigerians.

The Boko Haram released a 3-minute video where they claimed responsibility for the attack. The leader of the deadly sect Shekau revealed that the farmers were killed because they were reported to have captured a member of his Terrorist group and handed him over to the Nigerian Army. He disclosed that the massacre was carried out to serve as a deterrent to people living in the region.

President Muhammadu Buhari has reacted to this massacre and he tagged the actions of the insurgents as senseless and insane. Therefore, a 7-man delegates led by the Senate President Ahmed Lawan was sent to Borno State to pay a condolence visit to the Governor. The leader of the delegate reaffirmed the determination of the federal government to see that the war against Boko Haram is won.

However a day after this visit, the Nigerian Airforce launched many attacks on the Sambisa forest after they gathered information that the Terrorists group are hiding under its vegetation. According to the Punch, “The Nigerian Air Force jets have reportedly killed several insurgents and also bombed the dwellings of their leaders at two settlements in Borno State”.

The Coordinator, Defence Media Operations, Major General John Enenche revealed that “While engaging the targets, the attack aircraft delivered lethal bomb and rocket attacks, leading to the destruction of some of the structures and the killing of several terrorists”. The total number of the Boko Haram Terrorists that were killed in the attack was not ascertained.

Do you think President Muhammadu Buhari has started fulfilling his promises to the people of Borno state and Nigerians as a whole?
