Death is inevitable and a must for every living creatures created by God. Death is a price everyone of us must pay. No single individual, no matter how powerful, renown and wealthy can elongate his existence here on earth by a second when the owner(God) calls for it. Hence, the need to live our lives for God and for humanity.
losing such a high caliber individuals is a big loss in the history of their individual nations and Africa as a whole. Their legacies and profound method of governance will forever be remembered.
In this article, I shall be revealing to you three)(3) African Presidents who died just while in office and what actually happened that reinenforce the cause of their death.
1. Bingu Wa Mutharika
Bingu Wa Mutharika, was the president of Malawi from 24 May, 2004 to 5 April 2012 . Born on 24 February, 1934, the economist and former Chairperson for the African Union took the mantle of power in the year 2004. In his time as the president of Malawi, he developed the Malawi’s Agriculture sector of the economy to some reasonable extent. The unfortunate happened to him on 5 April, 2012 as he died of cardiac arrest in an hospital located in South Africa.
He was preceded by Bakili Muluzi and was succeeded by Joyce Banda.
2. Umaru Musa Ya’Adua
Umuru Musa Ya’Adua, was the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria from 29 May, 2007 to 5 May, 2010. Born on 16 August, 1951.He died on 5 May, 2010 in Abuja at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa and buried on 6 May 2010.
He died after suffering from Kidney problem and pericarditis( an infection which cause the malfunctioning of the heart).
He was preceded by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and succeeded by Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
3 Joao Bernardino Vieira
Joe Bernardo Vieira, was the president of Guinea Bissau from 1980 to 2009. Born on 27 April, 1939, he died on 2 March, 2019 after he was assassinated. According to the reports gathered, it was learnt that he was shot to death.
