The old age is vital part of human life. It is the evening of someone’s life. It is undesirable, it is unavoidable and sickness- ridden phase of life. But it is quite interesting to note that everybody wants to live a long life, but don’t want to grow old.
No matter how beautiful you are today, no matter your position in the society there comes a time you will grow old. All the cars and money you have gathered will be worthless to you. The only thing you would be interested in his Good Health.
From 1960 till date, Nigeria has experienced different leadership skills from different presidents/ Head of state. However, General Ibrahim Babaginda is arguably the most decorated presidents Nigeria has ever had.
Although, he ruled during the military regime but his strategic development skills is one of the reasons why Nigeria is now referred to as the giant of Africa.
4 years ago, news broke out that former head of state, General Ibrahim Babaginda was seriously sick.According to reports he was down with Radiculopathy.
Radiculopathy is a nerve disease that causes the pinching of the nerve roots in the spinal column. This causes the nerves roots to exit the spine. In In some cases, radiculopathy causes someone to be completely paralyzed. Thanks to God, Babangida’s case was different. He was not bedridden or paralyzed. But one of his leg became weak that he cannot walk without an aid.
When General Ibrahim Babaginda fell sick in 2016, they were many rumors that he was dead and completely paralyzed. Reacting to the rumors, the former Head of State said:
“For me, it doesn’t shock me neither bother me because I know I must go and meet God my Creator.There is nothing really to worry about, my religion has told me
Well, as a Muslim I strongly believe everybody will die. Everybody will die and everybody has to die. It could be now or in 100 years time or two days to come. But it doesn’t matter. Everybody must die .
I am not incapacitated.Nobody is above sickness or death because nobody is above what God has destined.”
Today General Ibrahim Babaginda is alive, healthy and living fine. Treatment and prayers have been able to neutralize the disease.
