There is crisis unfolding in Bassa Kukoki communities, Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State after Boko Haram insurgents mobbed the surrounding towns and took away no less than 50 people.
This is just coming less than 48 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari appointed new service chiefs and ordered the immediate retirement of the old service chiefs.
However, information from Sahara Reporters this afternoon indicates there is a tough fight ahead as the insurgents are not letting their guards down anytime soon.
The terrorists invaded some communities in Shiroro LGA and kidnapped tens of people , killing others too.
According to Sahara Reporters, Bassa is under siege as men of Boko Haram came out in their numbers and unleased terror on defenceless locals.
Sources also confirmed that the terrorists have been attacking other communities in the same local government since last week, robbing, kidnapping and killing many of the inhabitants.
At the moment, many indigenes have fled their villages and communities while other affected locals continue to live at the mercy of the wicked insurgents.
The people of Shiroro are thus, calling on the Federal Govt to come to their aid as they are hopeless and defenceless in the hands of their dreaded assailants.
Seriously, this calls for an immediate action by the service chiefs to ensure that these terrorists are wiped off for good. The Nigerian army should stop chasing shadows at the peaceful town of Orlu and relocate to Niger State where these dreaded insurgents are unleasing mayhem on locals.
Nigerians are already tired of these repeated attacks. Enough of all this. We have the right to live and where is the honour and pride of being patriotic when your leaders cannot guarantee you safety. Shall we keep on living like this forever?
The new service chiefs should sit up and mobilise all their military might and crush these dresses terrorists. They should stop invading peaceful towns, looking for trouble while danger looms ahead. Nigeria is our land and we must protect Nigeria.
