- Saraki was a London-trained Medical DoctorNot many are aware that Senator Saraki was trained as a Medical Doctor, he studied at the University of London from 1982 to 1987 where he obtained his M.B.B.S (London) and worked as Medical Officer at Rush Green Hospital, Essex from 1988 to 1989.
He was the Pioneer Chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF)
Saraki became the pioneer Chairman of the NGF in 2007 as Governor of Kwara State. Under his leadership, a reformed forum was established.
- He was the First Nigerian Governor to be awarded the National Honour
As Governor in Kwara State, Saraki received the Prestigious National Honour, Commander of the Order of Niger (CON) in 2010 making him the First Nigerian Governor to achieve such Feat.
