Arsenal are in a rebuilding phase, they are after different midfield targets with varying degrees of success. The Gunners have so far made two signings Willian Borges and Gabriel Magalhaes.
Interestingly both signings are Brazilians which would no doubt increase team bonding. The Gunners are after Atletico Madrid’s Thomas Partey and Lyon’s Houssem Aouar as they seek to bolster their midfield options.
It is rumoured that Arsenal have given assurances to Thomas Partey that they will trigger his release clause of 45 million pounds as soon as they acquire their remaining targets. Personal terms with the player has already been agreed.
Latest reports indicate that Arsenal have tabled a bid of 55 million euros for Lyon’s sleek midfielder Houssem Aouar. The bid is said to be including all add-ons and bonuses and they have contacted Lyon’s sporting director (Juninho Pernambucano) over the bid.
The fee is to be paid in installments, and Edu Gaspar is hoping to use his Brazilian ties to entice Juninho into accepting a deal. Aouar was a star in the recently concluded champions league campaign and has a lot of clubs interested in him.
