A Nigerian man based in the United States of America (USA) reportedly left one of his kidnappers with injuries after he beat his abductor to a pulp and escaped with the Kidnapper’s gun.
View pictures in App save up to 80% data. According to information gathered from Punch today, the victim was identified as Chinweizu. The USA-based Nigerian man was said to be abducted by suspected Fulani herdsmen at Akara Isuikwuato Road, Abia State alongside an unidentified woman on the 3rd of February, 2021.
A source close to the victim disclosed to Punch that three of the suspected Fulani kidnappers had taken the abducted woman away from where Chinweizu was kept in a forest. This development however gave Chinweizu the opportunity he needed as he kicked the kidnapper guarding him from behind and picked his gun.
Chinweizu reportedly used a part of the kidnapper’s gun to consistently hit his abductor “until the white part of one of the Kidnapper’s eyes almost popped out.” the source added.
Hearing the cry of their colleague, the kidnappers left the young woman they had taken away rushed to the aid of their gang member. Chinweizu had however escaped from the kidnapper’s captivity along with their gun.
Chinweizu reported the incident to the Army and the kidnappers were expected to show up at any the surrounding hospitals with their injured colleague.
As expected the kidnappers showed up at a nearby hospital but they hospitals were already informed about the development, the kidnappers were subsequently apprehended and taken away after the victim confirmed their identity.
Confirming the incident, the Abia State Police Public Relations Officer, Geoffrey Ogbonna said, “The said hoodlums also kidnapped one Chinweizu and took him into the bush. While they were taking him into the bush, Chinweizu summoned courage and overpowered one of the kidnappers and collected his gun from him.”
