On Thursday, 10th of November, five people died on the spot while three others were critically injured after a tricycle collided with a bus in Bauchi State.
Abdullahi Yusuf, the FRSC Sector Commander in Bauchi State, while reporting the incident which transpired at Gubi village on the Bauchi- Kano Road on Friday, he said the accident which claims the lives of five people and injured three was caused by violation of speed and overloading.
Yusuf said, ” eight men were affected in the crash out of eighteen men that were involved, ten people were luckily escaped from the incident with no wound whatsoever, ”
He added that the victim that died were deposited in the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital mortuary while the injured victim was rushed to the same hospital for medical treatment.
Yusuf advises drivers to endeavors to regularly obey the road traffic rules and regulations, be conscious and alert when driving, and also to take cognizant of the weather conditions most of the time.
In the space of 24 hours, this is the second that a motor accident has happened in Bauchi State.
We can recall on Wednesday, 9th of November when an accident that transpired at Nabordo Community on the Toro- Bauchi Highway claimed the lives of five persons and nine persons critically wounded.
In a similar incident, an auto crash that happened along the Ondo/Ore express road, Ondo State killed three persons and injured many people.
According to an eyewitness who revealed that the incident that occurred on Sunday involved a commercial bus and a Toyota Jeep.
The commercial vehicle was driving from Ondo town while he was on his way to Ore in Odigbo council area of Ondo state and the Toyota Jeep was driving to the capital city of Ondo, Akure.
