A day after members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, chased out students writing the West African Senior School Certificate Examination, WAEC, out of classrooms, anti- IPOB protesters stormed the National Assembly on Tuesday with different placards to air out their displeasure.
Recall that IPOB members forcefully executed its sit-at-home order with heavy gunshots yesterday, as students of Comprehensive Secondary School, Nkume in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, who were writing their WAEC examinations flee for their lives while the school was burnt.
Following the unfortunate incident, the anti- IPOB protesters at the National Assembly carried placards with inscriptions against the actions of the proscribed group.
Some of their placards read; ” Say No to IPOB and their Terrorism” , ” How is burning WAEC Examination materials going to give you Biafra? ”
Also, recall that angry reaction had emerged following the attack on the WAEC students as many Nigerians linked IPOB to Boko Haram terrorists who are making sure there are no schools in northern Nigeria.
@Gideon Nwagwu said, ” Wisdom is better than gold and riches. The sit-at-home order, will it in any way add value to the economy of the South East? The students have missed the core subjects that day! Recall the cost of registering for such exams In my thinking, there are other better options to push for one’s regional demands. ”
@Surajo Haruna said, ” I never in my life contemplate a daft agitation like this one. I see Igbos as a very enlighten Ppl, but for this one, they are getting wrong. May almighty God save the innocent. ”
@Murtala Tamburawa said, ” What they did was irresponsible and showed the world that they lack manner while the president even visited their state but couldn’t protest. Shame on them. ”
@Ibrahim Sen said, ” This is as exactly what Boko haram and bandit did in the North, depriving children of going to school in the name of fighting for their rights/freedom. ”
@Friday Itodo said, ” This is highly condemnable, why mortgaging the future of these students for crying out loud? You are not doing Buhari or those Fulanis any harm by doing this barbaric act rather you are destroying the future of your generation. You saw Buhari and all those politicians in Imo state last week, why didn’t you people attack them? It’s this innocent student you are flexing your muscles on. Nemesis shall tell. ”
What’s your opinion on the anti-protest?
