Popular northern female activist and businesswoman, Aisha Yesufu made a reactionary comment to the decision of European court that allow Hijab ban at work places.
Al Jazeera reported that Top European court finally decided that employers can now decide whether to prohibit their workers from wearing hijabs to work or not. The court ruling explained that the justification for such decision by any employer must be genuine.
Aisha Yesufu while reacting to the news via her verified Twitter handle, clearly expressed that if the news was not against Hijab, they would have been large uproar among people. Her statement reads “It is okay as long as it is people’s choices and do not affect another?! Not when it is hijab apparently.”
Aisha’s assertion which cannot be ignored literally discloses that a considerable number of people do not always accept the usage of Hijab at workplaces. This was even witnessed during in Nigeria recently, when some schools in Kwara were closed down because of Hijab usage.
