“I almost died in front of my baby, when My husband was shoveling me.”
A woman living in the Sweet Home Farm area of Samora Machel, has been beaten by her partner.
A source met a 59-year-old Lindiwe Bobozayo, who was waiting for paramedics at the Samora Machel police station, to find out what had happened and how her condition was serious.
During the interview, she told the source that her husband was harassing her, beating her all night and not letting her go out for help.
“I was the victim of a beating by my husband. Yesterday I was beaten like a thief by my husband, he took a spade and hit me with it. I tried to fight back and he hit me in the breasts and hands.” Said Bobozayo.
She said that during the fight, her eight-year-old son was watching and trying to stop him.
She cried because her husband has been beating her for so long and she was injured already.
Her condition was very bad and her two fingers had terrible wounds.
One finger was hanging, her finger bone seemed to be broken. The whole body was covered with blood. However, the victim said that after her husband horribly beat her, he was arrested but she closed/cancelled the case because she felt for him.
Paramedics were called by the police, but four hours passed without showing up and police tried to rush the victim to hospital.
On the way to hospital the victim said. “I don’t think I will have my fingers cut off at the hospital. I just can’t go.”
She got out of the car and ran away.
She also reported that she was originally from Cofimvaba in the village of Brokebolo in a place called KwaDudlu, the name she is well known with is “Mhizana Molo”.
Samora police said there was nothing they could do because the victim did not want to be taken to hospital.
