Following reports from the Supplementary Election going on in Ihiala local government area of Anambra, voters have been left waiting as electoral officials are yet to arrive at Abobot Girls Secondary School in Uzokwa Ward 3 at the time of filing this news.
According to reports, the ward has no less than 20 Polling Units.
Despite the fact that the Uzokwa ward is just a stone’ s throw away from the Ihiala Local Government Area Headquarters, reports have it that no staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission has been assigned there to conduct the state governorship election’ s final lap.
In another report, security personnel refused Victor Umeh, a former chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the state, access to the Ihiala local government headquarters on Tuesday morning.
The GOC, 82 Division questioned Umeh for showing up at the LGA headquarters with other party members.
” You are not supposed to be here, ” the GOC reportedly screamed at Umeh who insisted that he was there ” to ensure things go well” .
Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate in Anambra, has already expressed confidence in winning the election.
On Tuesday morning, Soludo posted on his Facebook page that he had already won the election and that the race was ” over. ”
Following the results collated and announced by INEC, the APGA Candidate would be declared the winner of the 2021 Anambra governorship election.
He wrote: ” Let’ s do simple math. Ihiala has 148, 000 registered voters but only 42, 000 voters picked up their PVC. So INEC statistics shows that you won’ t get more than 42, 000 votes in Ihiala. It is game over. ”
Despite the results already announced which put the APGA Candidate, Soludo in the lead, Nigerians are still hoping the Election will not have federal government interference in the long run.
