The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State has accused the state governor, Willie Obiano, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate, Chukwuma Soludo, of significantly cheating the state’ s inconclusive governorship election.
Basil Ejidike, the party’ s state chairman, made the assertion in a report on Monday, saying the party has turned down the outcomes so far announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and that if the election body goes ahead and declares Soludo the winning candidate, the APC will take the case before the Supreme Court, which will then chooses the state governor, as it did in Imo State.
Ejidike promised that he would never accept the outcome since the citizens of the state desired an APC governor and had voted en masse for the party, but ” Obiano and Soludo want to subvert the people’ s choices. ”
He also demanded that INEC cancel the election and set a new date for a new election.
” We would like the entire people to hear us say that the results of the Anambra governor election will never be accepted. ”
” The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate and current Governor, Willie Obiano, twisted the entire electoral system, and we shall stay firm in our opposition. ”
” We almost won all of the local government elections, but Willie Obiano and Charles Soludo, with the help of fraudulent INEC personnel, corrupted the entire process in favor of APGA.
” However, if INEC goes ahead and declares the results, we will undoubtedly dispute the electoral process in court, all the way to the Supreme Court. ” No one has the power to threaten us, ” Ejidike stated.
Recall that since the beginning of democracy APGA has been the party producing all governors in Anambra state and APC has never governed anambra State.
Do you think think Supreme Court will remove Soludo like it did in Imo state?
