Recall that Pastor Bulus Yikura was abducted by members of the Boko Haram sect on the eve of 25th December 2020 in Pemi Village, a settlement in Borno State. He was abducted alongside 6 other persons.
After his abduction, a viral video of Pastor Bulus Yikura had circulated the social media space. The video featured the abducted pastor, Bulus Yikura of the Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, informing Nigerians that he would be executed in a week time, if the ransom agreed upon by the Boko Haram terrorists are not paid.
Pastor Bulus Yikura had in the video beckoned on the federal government of Nigeria to negotiate with the Boko Haram terrorists so as to facilitate his release from their den. In the viral video, a member of the Boko Haram sect was seen standing behind him with a knife.
He used the opportunity to call on the Executive President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, as well as the Executive Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Zulum to come to his aid toward his rescue as he has just a week to live.
In the tweet which Apostle Johnson Suleman had posted, he beckoned on the Boko Haram terrorists not to kill Pastor Bulus Yikura. He pleaded for their mercy, stating that they should consider the mercy the Abyssinian Christians had on the first Muslims and saved them from the Quraysh.
