Atiku’s Running Mate has Been Nominated as Wike.
Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has reportedly been nominated as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate by a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) panel.
At a meeting on Tuesday, the PDP NWC, BOT, past and sitting governors formed a panel that selected Wike.
The PDP NWC recently convened a panel to select Atiku’s running mate after he won the party’s presidential poll. The panel is expected to transmit its recommendation to the NWC, which will officially announce the decision.
Meanwhile, ahead of Tuesday’s meeting, Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP’s national chairman, said the party expects to unveil Atiku’s running mate within 48 hours before members of the panel head into the closed-door meeting on Tuesday.
“I wish you a fruitful deliberation,” he had remarked, “and I hope you reach a conclusion between tomorrow and Friday.”
