Before You Call For FG Peace Dialogue With IPOB, Are You Aware Of These Shocking Crimes Allegedly Committed By IPOB?

Nine contestants in the ongoing gubernatorial race in Anambra State urged President Muhammadu Buhari to engage in conversation with the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in order to ensure peace in the southeast.

President Buhari has also been encouraged by the Ohanaeze Ndigbo to engage in discussion with IPOB and free its leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, in order to restore peace to Igbo nation.

Mr. President will also be met by the South East Governors’ Forum on the subject.

There is also a growing desire for the federal government to demilitarize the southeast region.

Are Those Advising President Buhari to Negotiate With IPOB Aware Of The Numerous Crimes Of The Organisation?

The Federal Government designated IPOB as a terrorist organization in 2017 as a result of its activities, which pose a threat to Nigeria’ s survival.

The federal government has recently accused IPOB of participating in activities that could jeopardize national security.

In the southeast, the group has been accused of organizing attacks on security agents and public institutions.

Several police stations and other public facilities in the region have been set on fire by alleged IPOB militants, killing dozens of security agents.

Nnamdi Kanu, the head of IPOB, is being held by the Department of State Security and has been charged with treasonable crime and terrorism.

Negotiating with a terrorist organization can put national security at risk. The federal government should not engage in negotiations with IPOB or demilitarize the southeast. Those asking for discussion are undoubtedly unaware of IPOB’ s lethal nature.

The request for dialogue is pointless and absurd, especially given the ongoing attacks on security agents in the southeast by unknown gunmen alleged to be IPOB members.

Below are shocking crimes IPOB have been linked to in the past;
