Did The Bible Say “Women Should Not Wear Trouser”? It Says Women Should Not Wear Men’s Clothing

For a long time, Deuteronomy 22:5, have states that, “A lady should not dress up men’s clothing, nor the man wear women’s clothing, for the Lord your God despises anybody who does,” has sparked a debate about women wearing trousers, but many people are unaware what the Bible says in Deuteronomy 22:5 that “The lady must not put on male clothing, neither a man should wear a female clothing, for the Lord your God will despised anyone who does.

When you examine that, you’ll notice that it makes no mention of pants, which were not widely worn in ancient times and thus would not have been included in the Book of Deuteronomy, which is considered to be one of the Bible’s oldest books. They were dressed in the chiton, a simple linen tunic that was worn by people of all genders and ages. Men’s chitons were worn above the elbows, while women’s chitons were worn below the ankles.

Despite the fact that trousers were never mentioned in the Bible, the issue of whether or not to wear them was a hotly debated topic. The men wore a gown with a jacket over it, while the women wore a gown without a jacket but with a head covering, as depicted in Biblical depictions of clothing worn by men and women at the time.

But don’t make the mistake of mistaking it for something else. The Bible does not say “women should not wear trouser,” but it does say “women should not wear men’s clothing,” and you can check your Bible to see if trouser is mentioned. Let’s not forget that the official men’s attire in Scotland is a skirt and suit; isn’t a skirt a female garment?

Furthermore, Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Winners Chapel, has never been opposed to the wearing of trousers, and you will occasionally see ladies in trousers in service at Winners Chapel. This isn’t something you’ll find in the Bible because no one has ever made such a claim.
