Big Brother’s Mercy Eke Seals New Deal

Two years after she was crowned the Big Brother Naija reality TV show winner, Mercy Eke has continued to prove that her victory was not from just mere luck. In an intriguing addition to her line-up of ambassadorships, Eke has eked a new deal with the luxury fashion outlet, Payporte.

Eke’s unveiling is coming at a time when Nigeria’s e-commerce landscape is witnessing phenomenal growth, globally.

Speaking during the Eke’s unveiling, Payporte CEO, Bassey Eyo, affirmed the company’s commitment to expansion, adding that the firm’s rebranding as solely a fashion outlet was strategic to its growth.

“We believe fashion is not all about what we wear, it’s a reflection of who we are. We support freedom of expression for all and draw inspiration from all spheres of life especially lifestyle and entertainment. Our mission of clothing Africans in body, mind and spirit, to inspire self-confidence and self-belief is clear.

“We also understand the need to bring some amazing people into the family so, we are unveiling Mercy, an amazing person, a Queen of highlight who we’ve been studying in the last one year and we fell in love with her style, her energy and confidence right from when she was in the Big Brother house.

Speaking on the duration and worth of the deal, he said: “We have a one year deal but we will review every six months, as for the money, what I will say is that Mercy has been paid and she’s happy about the deal.”

On the company expectations from the new ambassador, Eyo said the brand wants Eke to remain a role model to aspiring ladies, look super fashionable in her outfit and to make people aspirational.

“We want her to give people hope that they will want to be like her and we want her to inspire our demography, which is the lady between 16 and 25 years, and those that want to look young and trending.

In her reaction, Eke said: “I’m not about how many deals I’ve had or about the longevity, it is about staying on top of the game and carrying the brand. I’ve worked with a lot of brands and I’ve never had an issue with any. I’m in for this; I am good with this new journey with Payporte. I treat a brand I work with like my own and that’s why I am here.

Payporte and I have been on this since 2019 and for them to still stick with me means my brand is reputable. I have rejected a few brands, some of them didn’t meet up with my terms; I like brands that don’t want conflict.”
