  1. One dies, five people got injured in Osun state road crash.

On Thursday, there was a tragic accident that occurred at the Akure expressway in Osun state. The accident happened as a result of a speed limit violation by a car and truck. As a result of the accident, one man was killed and five people got injured. Agnes Ogungbemi, who is the public education office of road safety in Osun state has confirmed the incident. According to her, the corpse of the man and the five people who got injured were all taken to the hospital in the state.

  1. Five people were killed in suspected cult clashes in Edo State.

According to the PUNCH newspaper, five people were killed in clashes between members of rival cults in Benin, Edo State. The members of the rival cults who are suspected to the prisons escapee fought in the streets of Benin, the capital of Edo State. In just two days, five people have been reportedly killed among them is a man who has four children.

  1. Ohanaeze, Afenifere, ACF disagree over civilian JTF’s recruitment into Army

The recruitment of four hundred members of CJTF (civilian joint task force) in Maiduguri, Borno State has brought some groups representing regions of the country against it. Arewa Consultative forum from the North has fully agreed on the move, some groups in the south are against the decision. Afenifere, Ohanaeze Ngigbo, the pan Niger Delta forum and the middle belt forum are all against the move. According to them, only people from one region of Nigeria are recruited into the Nigerian army.

Recalled that on Wednesday, the Nigerian Army had recruited four hundred members of CJTF into the army. According to the Nigerian army, this will help them and assist them in finishing the war against Boko Haram insurgents. The civilian joint task force members including hunters are enlisted into the army.

However, in a statement by Afenifere, the Yoruba socio-political, the federal government is regionalizing the Nigerian army. Similarly, Ohanaeze Ngigbo, an Igbo socio-cultural organization insisted that recruiting of four hundred CJTF members in Borno into the army has violated the national law.

  1. Man kills his girlfriend, buries her corpse in Lagos State.

According to PUNCH Metro, Oritoke Manni, who is twenty six years of age went missing after she visited her boyfriend, whose name is Segun Titilayo. Manni visited him at his house. Afterward, she is nowhere to be found and traced. The members of the girl reported the case to the police that their daughter was missing. The police circulated the information to all the police stations in the state. The corpse of Manni was found in Lekki, Lagos State by an engineer when excavating site at Otolu town. The police command in Lagos State has arrested Manni’s boyfriend who is twenty nine years of age. He is allegedly arrested for killing and burying his girlfriend.

  1. PDP primaries: Hoodlums raze Abia LG secretariat

On Thursday, unknown hoodlums had set ablaze in a part of Isiala Ngwa LGA in Abia state. The incident happened after the governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu sacked the chairman of the Arochukwu local government area.

However, the state government has condemned the acts and enforced law agents to prosecute the hoodlums.
