In Kaduna State alone, 937 people have been killed by bandits, with 1,962 others kidnapped in 2020.
According to the Kaduna State Government, this was announced on Wednesday by Samuel Aruwan, the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs.
The Commissioner, who presented the 2020 Security Report to traditional rulers, members of civil society organizations, and the media at the Government House in Kaduna, said that considering the challenges, the government is working hard with security agencies to solve the issue.
According to Aruwan, the state’s Igabi Local Government Area has the most deaths with 152, followed by the Zango Kataf Local Government with 114.
Bandit activities in Kaduna have undoubtedly crippled developmental activities in the state’s seven local government areas: Igabi, Giwa, Chikun, Zango Kataf, Zaria, Kajuru, Kaura, and Jemaa.
Apart from affecting means of livelihood, the security problem has also claimed several lives, many sustained permanent injuries while hundreds of others are Internally displaced.
