BREAKING: Chaos In Lagos As Okada Riders Go On Rampage
Residents around the Ojuelegba/Idiaraba area of Lagos State are currently scampering for safety as some commercial motorcyclists (okada riders) are said to have gone on a rampage in the area.
Newsbreak.ng reported that the Lagos State Government on June 1 began a clampdown on okada riders in the state following a total ban on their activities in six Local Government Areas/Local Council Development Areas of Lagos.
However, this seems not to have gone down well with some of the riders who allegedly went on a rampage on Tuesday afternoon.
According to a video seen by Newsbreak, people were seen running as shots were fired. Tyres were also set on fire and used to block the road.
Currently happening at Idiaraba, Lagos, around LUTH. Apparently bike men are revolting against the okada ban in the area. While some are suing the Lagos State government for taking away their source of living, others are taking the physical mayhem and violence seriously too. pic.twitter.com/AKuboFaLXY
