A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), presided over by Justice Halilu Yusuf, on Thursday remanded one Mohammed Buhari, in prison custody after he was arraigned for falsely selling and receiving N7.5million for a parcel of land.
Buhari was arraigned on one-count charge dated June 15, which borders on collection of money by false pretence in respect of a land.
After taking his plea, Chukwudi Oli counsel for the defendant/applicant informed the court of his client’s bail application.
Reacting, Aishatu Ibrahim, counsel for the complainant raised objection, informing the court that she was served with the bail application inside court.
The complainant lawyer told the court that she will join issues with the defence lawyer over the bail application.
In a short ruling, Justice Halilu Yusuf ,remanded the defendant in Suleja prison pending the hearing of Buhari’s bail application on October 5.
