Kanye West has spent a lot of money on his political campaign so far.
The 43-year-old musician, who is trying to get on the ballot for the upcoming Presidential election in a number of states, has shelled out almost $6 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Most of the money has come from a personal loan he made to his campaign, via a finance report that was filed with the Federal Election Commission on Friday, September 4.
The report says that Kanye was spent $5.86 million so far, with most of that money going toward consultants and fees, and he alone has given more than $6.7 million during July and August.
Other sources of income reveal that Kanye has also received some donations from $200-$1,000 from other people supporting his bid for the Oval Office.
Just recently, Kanye set the record straight on if he’s being paid by the Republican Party to distract citizens from voting for Joe Biden.
While the filing of his spending so far has also appeared to confirm the musician is getting a little help from Republican sources in his bid for power.
Deadline went on to report: “According to the FEC filings, West’s campaign has paid $1.28 million to Atlas Strategy Group, which is run by Gregg Keller, a Republican operative who is the former executive director of the American Conservative Union, which hosts the annual Conservative Political Action Conference.”
The report states Kanye stumped up $6.8 million of his own money for his work so far.
While his campaign: “reported $11,472.66 in contributions”.
