An Abuja high Court has sentenced the Director General of the National Arts and Culture, Olusegun Runsewe to jail for contempt of court. Justice Jude Okeke made the order while making a ruling on a motion drawn from a suit filed by Umakalif limited against the DG.
The Judge sentenced the DG to the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCS) for contempt of a court order made on December 15, 2017. The Judge condemned the action of the DG and described his actions as “contemptuous”. The Inspector General of Police was ordered to arrest the DG and hand him over to the NCS. The DG recently threatened to deal with bobrisky after calling him a national disgrace.
Bobrisky’s party was disrupted by security agents on the orders of the DG where he claimed to have lost millions used in organizing the party.
