Buhari condoles with Minister of Communication over daughter’s death
President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr Isa Pantami, over the passing on of his daughter, Aisha.

Malam Garba Shehu, the president’s spokesman confirmed Buhari’s condolence message in a statement in Abuja on Tuesday.
Shehu said that the president, who placed a call to the minister on Monday evening, condoled with all members of the family on the sad event.

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development has finally issued a statement on releasing Npower Batch C shortlisted names. Naija News recalls that the Npower portal for 2020 Batch C intakes opened at exactly 11: 45 pm on Friday, 26th June 2020, hours after some applicants had already registered for the scheme as against the directive of the social intervention scheme.

The Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq has given an update on the commencement of the Npower Batch C scheme. She gave the update in a series of tweets from her Twitter account on Tuesday, 27th October where she also recounted gains from the scheme.

    Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development has given an important update on the payment of outstanding stipends for exited Batch A and B beneficiaries of the Npower scheme. The Minister in a series of tweets via her Twitter account on Tuesday, 27th October explained that those with outstanding payments were affected by the platform migration from NIBSS to GIFMIS by the Office of Accountant General of the Federation in March 2020.

Beneficiaries under the N-Power Programme who were omitted from the payment of their stipends have been directed by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government to report to their state focal persons for verification and revalidation. The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Farouq, made this call on Tuesday.

  1. N-Power ‘Commences’ Payment Of July Stipend To Npower Beneficiaries

The social intervention scheme of the Federal Government, N-Power, has reportedly started payment of July stipend to Npower beneficiaries. Naija News understands that the Federal Government commenced the payment of Npower July stipend to all the batch A and B Npower beneficiaries on Friday, a report filed by All News, quoted a graduate beneficiary of the scheme who uses UBA, Ademeso Temitope, to have confirmed the payment.

Let me give a brief background on that particular picture. On October 7, 2020, there was a call for the #EndSARS protest. In Abuja, on October 8, 2020, we came out to protest and I joined a group of Nigerians. On October 10, was the day that particular picture was taken. They were going to come out even though they had been harassed; they were going to do a march and I joined them. I stayed at the back. By the time we got to the police headquarters, we sat down on the hot tarmac and it was quite hot. The youth insisted that they were not going to go, that they were going to wait for the Inspector-General of Police since he wasn’t around, and it was a Saturday. They would wait for him to come back.
Burna Boy Snags 2021 Grammy Nomination With “Twice As Tall” Album
Nigerian superstar singer Burna Boy has landed his second Grammy nomination thanks to his “Twice As Tall” album.
The singer was nominated under the World Music Album alongside other entertainers like Antibalas, Bebel Gilberto, Anoushka Shankar and Tianariwen.

This is the second year in a row that the singer is getting a nomination in this category.
He snagged his first nomination last year with his “African Giant” album but lost the award to Angelique Kidjo.
With this nomination for the 2021 Grammy awards, he has another shot at bringing home the much-coveted award.
Twice As Tall is a 15-track album which was released on August 14th is a follow up to his critically acclaimed 2019 album “African Giant”.
