An ex- Governor of the state of Jigawa, Mallam Sule Lamido, while reacting to the chances of the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi in the upcoming presidential elections in 2023 said that Peter Obi does not have a structure and is unable to win the elections in Nigeria.
6698 Persons Have Died, 3357 Abducted in 6 Months in Nigeria- Intelligence Report Reveals
Mallam Sule Lamido said Peter Obi’ s Labour Party, LP is simply a nomenclature as a political party that is not known throughout Nigeria as the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Congress, APC. To back up his point, Lamido said that Nigerians should travel through the country where he mentioned Oyo, Lagos, and other places throughout the country. He cited what happened in the state of Osun as an example where the Labour Party got under 3, 000 votes.
” So that’ s it. You need a structure first to carry you across. I don’ t know how Labour Party can carry Obi across. I don’ t think so. Remove Peter Obi, what do you have left in Labour Party? Nothing! In PDP remove any name, the party will remain because it is organic and it’ s the people’ s party. Obi would have remained in PDP. He is a good person and good material. He would have remained in the party that catapulted him to the national limelight. He was an APGA governor and nobody knew him in Nigeria. “
