Kaduna- based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, sheds light on his conversation with the bandits, Daily Trust reports.
Gumi said some prominent Nigerians were spying on his efforts to negotiate with the militants. He noted that some politicians had killed innocent Nigerians rather than robbers.
Sheikh Ahmed Gumi, a renowned Islamic scholar and preacher, has said that some politicians are worse off than robbers because the misuse of the country’ s resources has killed more Nigerians than robbers.
Legit. ng reported that Gumi made the remarks in a comment on his Facebook page titled, ‘ War has never been a solution anywhere, anytime. ”
He said some Nigerians had died of cholera due to the lack of safe drinking water.
Gumi said: ” Some of the politicians, whom I view as urban robbers, because of the damage we have done to our resources and the lack of priorities, are causing more deaths and injuries than robbers. ” Gumi said some prominent figures in the country were sabotaging his work.
The cleric went on to say that some anti- peace elements said peace and dialogue with herdsmen and bandits had not been successful.
However, according the popular Islamic scholar and teacher, Sheikh Gumi, has said some politicians are nastier than bandits as more Nigerians had been killed by the consequence of mismanagement of resources than banditry.
Gumi said this in an opinion piece on his Facebook page titled, ” War has never been a solution anywhere, anytime” .
According to the teacher, many Nigerians had died from cholera because of lack of clean hygienic water. He said, ” Some of the politicians, who I see as urban- bandits, out of their share mismanagement of our insufficient resources and loss of priority, cause the death and decrepitude of more people than the effect of bandits. ”
Recently, many Nigerians had died of cholera, water- borne disease and because of lack of simple clean water to drink, or typhoid, malaria and malnutrition?
” A nation with a maternal mortality rate of almost 500, 000 per annum because of the lack of adequate maternal health facilities and qualified staff. A country where its highly- priced medical personnel are looking for a window to escape the inferno. Such a country, please! ?
Gumi, who from his piece appeared disgruntled about the killings of some bandits by military officers, said his mission was impaired by some momentous people.
