Buhari appoints Goodluck Jonathan, Ikechukwu, Odih, and others as ministers

The executive message with the nomination of six names as replacements for ministers who quit to run for president was received by the Nigerian Senate.

President Muhammadu Buhari announced the nominations will replace the former ministers who had resigned from his cabinet in a letter read by Senate President Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawa on Tuesday.



“I thus transmit the underlisted ministerial nominations for your approval in compliance with Section 8 Subsection 2 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended,” the letter said.

The following individuals are among the nominees:

Abia State Representative Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh

Akwa Ibom State’s Umana Okon Umana

Ebonyi State – Egwumakama Joseph Nkama

Imo State Governor — Goodluck Nnana Opiah

Kano State Representative Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub

Ondo State Representative Ademola Adewole Adegoroye

Rivers State Representative – Odum Odih
