Till today, The Nigerian Civil War is the great conflicts that has defined the history of Nigeria in its early stages. Although the war lasted for only 30 months, it was one of the bloodiest conflicts that has ever occurred in Africa. The two sides (Nigerian and Biafran Forces) involved in the war clashed violently against each other until eventually one of them couldn’t continue anymore and surrendered.
Many soldiers from both sides gave up their lives fighting for what they believed in. As you know to fight a war, various types of powerful weapons are always utilized ranging from armored cars, battle tanks, hand guns to assault rifles.
Many great soldiers fought in the war, some of whom made history and later became leaders of Nigeria, one of such soldiers is our current president Muhammadu Buhari. In this article, I’m going to be showing you a throwback photo of him in 1969 inspecting of one of the rifles taking from Biafran soldiers.
