Chelsea have already completed two major signings this summer and after the Blues have sealed Champions League spot, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is eager to add two to three more players as he bid to challenge Liverpool and Manchester City for the title next season.
Recent reports suggest Frank Lampard’s side have been linked with Bayer Leverkusen sensation for a while now and have already agreed personal terms with the Germany international, but are yet to agree a fee with the German side, with Leverkusen holding out for £90m which the Blues are not willing to pay.
But according to the latest report from a respected journalist Kevin Palmer, Chelsea are closing in on their third major signing of the summer.
He revealed in a tweet that the Blues are nearing the capture of German sensation Kai Havertz. The Blues and Bayer Leverkusen are in the final stages of negotiations with the focus now on the payment structure for performance-related bonuses.
Havertz has been in impressive form for Bayer Leverkusen this season in which he scored 17 goals and also contributed 9 assists in all competitions.
