Our lifestyle is one important thing that plays a big role in determining how healthy we will eventually turn out to be. One of the important times for a person to watch his or her lifestyle is when we start aging. There are certain things we will start avoiding and there are some we will start consuming in order to stay healthy.

The age of 40 is not old age but it is the beginning of old age onset, so whatever you will avoid, you should start it at that age. Well in this article, I am going to talk about things you should reduce intake of when you clock the age of 40 and above.

1. Excess intake of alcohol

One of things you should reduce intake of is alcohol. Alcohol is not totally bad when taken in moderation but when we consume excess alcohol, it becomes dangerous for our body. Excess Intake of alcohol may result to Diabetes, which is a chronic health situation.


2. Reduce Intake of Sugary products

Excess intake of sugary product may spike your body sugar resulting to Diabetes. Sugar may also cause obesity, which is the risk factor of major chronic diseases like heart infections, Diabetes and High Blood pressure.

3. Excess intake of salty foods

One other thing you should reduce intake of is salt. Excess intake of salty foods may result to spike in your blood pressure. So it is best you watch the amount of salt you consume.

4. Reduce Intake of eggs

Eggs are highly proteinous foods that are good for the body. But it is also very important that we reduce the amount of eggs we consume on a regular basis. As you age, consuming excess intake of eggs might result to obesity which is a risk factor to major chronic diseases.

5. Stop Smoking

Smoking is a very dangerous habit that kills a lot. Smoking destroys the organs of the body. It is the major cause of many chronic diseases especially heart and lung diseases.

If you want to be healthy, do more of these things

  1. Exercise Regularly

The more you do exercise, the more you burn down fats in your body. Exercise helps in burning down bad cholesterol in the body.

  1. Eat more of fruits and vegetables

Fruits and vegetables are filled with enough vitamins and minerals which are essential for healthy living. Eating more of fruits and vegetables. It helps in keeping us healthy.

  1. Eat More of fishes and chicken, they are good in Omega-3 fatty acid, which helps in keeping the heart healthy.
