Sunday Igboho was arrested days ago by Interpol security operatives in Benin republic after he tried to escape the country and travel to Germany with his wife. In reaction to this, thousands of Yoruba nation agitators stormed the Benin court where Igboho would be judged and tried as they begged for his release.
However, according to news reports this evening, Chief Sunday Igboho’s wife has been set free from the custody of Benin republic security operatives. A source who spoke to Sahara Reporters also made it known that Sunday is not yet ready for extradition and repatriation to Nigeria, therefore he would remain in the custody.
Sunday Igboho became a popular name after he ordered fulani herdsmen in the Southwest to return to the North, he gradually drifted from his objective to protect the Yoruba people and started agitating for secession. The Buhari-led government had warned the secessionists to stop their agitations but Igboho refused to listen, his house was raided by DSS operatives and he escaped. He bravely came out in public to say that no one can challenge him or arrest him, but he didn’t know he’ll face the consequences of his actions now. Shortly after his trial in Benin republic, he will be repatriated back to Nigeria and answer for his actions in the Southwest.
