Various parks in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja has been shut down by the Federal Government of Nigeria over the fear of new COVID-19 cases.
Head, Publicity and Media of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Ministerial Committee on COVID-19 Enforcement, Ikharo Attah, revealed this in a statement on Wednesday during a exercises carried out to monitor the COVID-19 cases at the Abuja Millennium Park.
Mr. Ikharo Attah noted that the board council would not lose its gaze and guard on the supervision of the new Delta virus.
He added that people at the city center anided by the COVID-19 protocols and it was but reverse is the case in some interior areas and satellite towns.
“We saw that there was compliance to the COVID-19 protocols during the prayer on Tuesday, most especially at the main city mosques” he added.
Mr Attah further revealed that the Federal Capital Territory(FCT) police commissioner had also authorized divisional policemen to make sure that no parks were in operation in the speculated areas.
