The Cross River State political space has witnessed several dramas ever since the governor defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), after winning all his elections in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Many of his loyalists and appointees had followed him to the APC, while some had chosen to resign from their office rather than leaving the PDP for APC.
Some that were not quick to tender their resignation letters were relieved of their duties.
The recent letter of resignation is that of the Special Assistant to the governor on the Ministry of International Development Corporation, Esu Coco-Bassey.
According to him, the reason for his resignation is best known to him. He also thanked the governor for allowing him to serve in his government and wished him well in his remaining days in office.
His resignation might be a setback for the APC as he has been able to gather followers and loyalists that might want to leave with him.
See the resignation letter below.
