Insecurity in the country is becoming more alarming and many people have lost their lives and properties especially in the North. The federal government and the Nigerian Army in recent times, have continued to intensify efforts to fight against insurgency and other related crimes in the country.
As this is ongoing, the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists group is not slowing down on their attacks on innocent people on a daily basis. In that regard, president Buhari has ordered for immediate action to be taken in Zamfara State.
The president through his media aide, Bashir Ahmad, disclosed in a tweet few minutes ago that the president has ordered for immediate response to the rising cases of bandit attacks.
Recall that a report from Sahara Reporters yesterday, indicated that the Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, ISWAP reportedly captured and destroyed an Armed Personnel Carrier, APC. The armoured vehicles were captured during one of the Army’s operations in the trenches against the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists.
In that report, it was clear that the Isotrex Phantom APCs were recently acquired by the federal government to the Nigerian Army. This was in a bid to quell the incessant killings and attack by the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists group.
Bashir was quoted in the tweet saying, “President @MBuhari has ordered for an immediate response to rising cases of bandit attacks on communities in Zamfara State”
