The inability to predict when death comes knocking makes it very scary for mankind. A hale and hearty man who had just left his house may be pronounced dead via road accident within couple of hours. Someone could fall ill for a brief sickness and lose his life through that process. Indeed death is no respecter of time, class nor skin colour. And this time, it has struck again, claiming the life of a prominent African politician.
According to Sahara Reporters, Ivory Coast’s Prime Minister, Hamed Bakayoko, who has been considered by many as possible successor to incumbent President Alassane Quattara is dead. It is reported that the Prime Minister died of cancer in a hospital in Germany, just two days after his 56th birthday. Mr Bakayoko was reported dead few hours ago after battling cancer for a month, Peoples Gazette reports.
The deceased was appointed prime minister by the President not up to a year ago, specifically in July 2020, succeeding Amadou Gon Coulibaly who suddenly met his untimely death.
Reports indicates that the prime minister was first flown to France on February 18 for medical checks then later to Freiburg in German where he eventually lost the battle to cancer.
I pray God grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bare this irreparable loss. REST ON SIR!!!
