Imo State House of Assembly Speaker Rt. Hon. Paul Emeziem was charged on Monday. Emeziem was replaced by Kennedy Ibe during today’ s House of Representatives plenary session after several allegations of gross misconduct and abuse of power were made.
After the unanimous decision of 19 members of 27 legislators, the former spokesman was read out in a signed letter on the floor of the house, in which the former spokesman was accused of serious misconduct and abuse of office. Ibeh, who represents the constituency of Obowo state, was sworn in immediately as speaker of the Imo state parliament.
DAILY POST discovered that the allegedly accused Vice President Amara Iwuanyanwu broke into the chambers with six MPs and security personnel to indict the president.
Also, The All Progressives Congress, APC, accused the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Chukwuma Soludo and the governor of Anambra, Willie Obiano, of rigging the victory and defeat of the government elections in the state. Basil Ejidike, president of the APC in the state, made the remarks rejecting the results claimed so far by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
In a statement released Sunday evening, Ejidike promised to challenge the outcome to the Supreme Court if INEC categorically declares Soludo the winner of the elections. Ejidike promised never to accept the election results because the people in the state wanted an APC governor.
He called for the cancellation of the elections and set a new date for a new poll. According to Ejidike: ” We want the whole world to hear our voices that we will never accept the results of the Anambra government election. ” The All- Progress Alliance (APGA) candidate and incumbent governor, Willie Obiano, have manipulated the entire electoral system and we will fight back. ” ” We almost won against the local government, but Willie Obiano and Charles Soludo, through corrupt, instrumental INEC officials, overturned the whole process in favor of APGA.
” But if INEC continues to publish the results, we will definitely challenge the electoral process in court, all the way to the Supreme Court. No one can threaten us” .
