The former minister of aviation, Femi Fani Kayode, has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC.
Wilson Uwujaren, the spokesman of the anti- graft agency confirmed the arrest of Fani- Kayode on Tuesday, November 23rd, to be true.
It was reported that the former minister of aviation was seized and taken to the Lagos Zonal Office of the anti- graft agency for plausible manipulation and imitation of documents.
The arrest of the ex- minister who defected from the main opposition party, PDP to the ruling APC was also reported by The Punch.
The Punch noted that the arrest of Fani- Kayode was also confirmed by the EFCC spokesman.
Recall that Fani- Kayode was brought before the Federal High Court In Lagos over the case of forgery.
The International Center for Investigative Reporting ICIR has noted that Fani- Kayode was long expected by the Lagos command of the EFCC on Wednesday, November 24th.
A lot of questions were kept for him to answer; questions about forgery of hospital documents to mislead the court in charge of his money- laundering case with a view of slowing the hearing.
After receiving the latest letter from the defendants, the anti- graft agency detected the mode in Fani- Kayode’ s letters getting adjournment.
The Federal High Court in Lagos has asked Fani- Kayode to oat the aim of N200, 000 for his incessant absence at his case or stand the chance of being jailed.
This order was given by the presiding judge, Justice Daniel Osaigor on Wednesday, October 13th, noting that he has done through the court’ s file and he noticed that his reading for seeking adjournment is based on the same medical grounds.
When the case was called, Mrs. Bilikisu Buhari announced the appearance for the prosecution. The prosecutor told the court that on July 15, the prosecution had moved the court to adjourn the matter for a re- arraignment of the defendants,
