Ekiti election: APC candidate Oyebanji casts vote, commends INEC

BIODUN Oyebanji, the governorship candidate of the ruling (All Progressive Congress) has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for ensuring a transparent process after casting his vote in the ongoing Ekiti State gubernatorial election.

Oyebanji, who cast his ballot around 10:38 am at Polling Unit 003, Okogosi Town, Ekiti West, said the election has been smooth and peaceful, so far.

The APC candidate told newsmen that the current election was an improvement on previous ones.

He expressed hopes that he will emerge victorious, although he noted that it is too early to predict who will win the election.

“Today’s outing is an improvement from the last time. I have cast my vote and it was seamless. I must commend INEC for this improvement but I hope that it’s like that across the state. This is just a unit and we have over 2,000 units.

“My expectation is for me to win. But it is too early to predict.”

Oyebanji, who was in company with his running mate, Monisade Afuye, said he was not aware of cases of vote buying.

Asked if he had noticed cases of voter buying in some polling units, he replied, “I’m not aware of it.”
