A pastor who is popularly known as Pastor Chris Simon Amadi of Shalom Mercy Ministry in Aluu, Ikwere LGA of Rivers State has been arrested by men of the Rivers state Police Command for allegedly strangling his wife to death.
It was gathered that the man of God allegedly strangled his wife to death over a disagreement.
From the story gathered, the so- called man of God following a brief disagreement with his wife strangled her to death. The sad event was reported to have happened at their residence which is located in Mbodo Community. They were arguing about school fees payment in his wife’ s school.
The victim’ s elder brother who is identified ad Odinaka Opurum also confirmed the story to be true. In a statement which he made, he said his late sister was embarrassed when the affected parents started calling her to complain about her husband’ s actions.
” The husband went to the school (Tuesday, November, 9) and started driving pupils away for allegedly failing to pay school fees. When parents now called the wife to ask why she drove their kids away even after paying, she appealed they should not be angry that she will find out from her husband. ”
” When she got to the house, they started quarreling again and the husband started beating her. He then started to strangle her to the point when she collapsed and became unconscious. ”
” When he saw that she was no longer breathing, he rushed her to a clinic close to their house, the clinic confirmed her dead and referred him to UPTH to be sure. Instead of taking her to UPTH as they advised, he took her to the house, covered her with wrapper, packed some clothes in a bag, locked all the doors and attempted to run away” . Said Odinaka Opurum.
