Precious Chikwendu, the estranged wife of Femi Fani-Kayode, a former minister of aviation in Nigeria has said that she is ready to do battle with him for custody of their four sons together.
On September 18, 2020, reports broke that FFK had parted ways with Chikwendu after six years of marriage and three kids.
According to blogger, Stella Dimoko Korkus, the former minister’s marriage crashed because of domestic violence meted out by him on his estranged wife.
The blogger further claimed that Precious moved out without her sons and that the ex-minister took over the kids, put them under the care of a nanny, and forbade his estranged wife from coming near their house.
Chikwendu has now come out to reveal that she is currently enmeshed in a custody battle for the boys with her ex-husband. In an Instagram post earlier today, the mother of four stated that nothing will stop her from getting access to her sons.
Chikwendu also recounted how the former minister told her on numerous occasions — while they were still together — that she couldn’t do anything because she had no one.
“You called me Khalesi because you knew that behind my pretty face, is a warrior that never gives up. You kept mocking me and said I had nobody but I constantly told you, I have God,” she wrote.
“Then the jackals thought I’m a tigress and kept off my track but still messing with my cubs. Now this Lioness is out for her cubs and won’t stop till the sun stands still. Taking the sticks and stones thrown at me to build a house.
Chikwendu also took a swipe at an Instagram user who queried her for choosing “battle instead of war.”
“Till you carry a precious first in you, and another fabulous multiple three at the same time, after too many needless and almost dying of blood cloth from multiple birth, my thyroid taken out two months after delivery and later your labor taken away from you over nothing, then I will have an answer for you,” she fired back.
Recall that following reports of their crashed marriage, FFK had alleged that he once caught his now-estranged wife, Precious Chikwendu in bed with a married man.
Fani-Kayode made this known in a series of tweets on Saturday, October 3 as he responded to a viral video released by Sahara Reporters in which he is alleged to have abused his wife.
In the video, released by the news outlet, the two could be seen engaging in a heated exchange over issues about the family.
But reacting in a series of tweets, the politician quashed the domestic violence claim, saying that the short clip was nothing but a “mere propaganda.”
“@SaharaReporters posted a video which supposedly depicts me abusing my estranged wife. This is nothing but a propaganda video,” he wrote.
“There was no physical abuse. I simply took the phone from her to stop her from recording me after catching her in bed with a married man days earlier,
“I repeat there was no physical abuse whatsoever and she had been insulting and subjecting everybody, including family members, staff, and children, to physical and verbal abuse the whole day. As usual, it was a nightmare!”
Fani-Kayode also enjoined the public to carefully go through the said the video, adding that his actions in the clip did not in anyway suggest he was trying to abuse her physically.
“My words in the video are self explanatory. I urge those that watched it to listen to those words carefully. I told her that everyone wanted peace except for her and all she did was indulge in scandal after scandal. I have never physically abused my estranged wife,” he added
As earlier stated, the ex-minister has been married four times. He had first tied the knot with Saratu Attah in 1987.
The duo, however, split three years later after having had one daughter whose name is Oluwafolake. In 1991, Fani-Kayode married Yemisi Adeniji but they were separated by 1995. They’ve had three daughters.
His third marriage was to Gina Hall in 1997. The union has been blessed with one daughter, whose name is Oluwaremilekun, after which he married the now-estranged Chikwendu in 2014.
Fani-Kayode also welcomed a child with an unidentified woman earlier this year.
