I’m very sure many of my readers would have heard that schools and universities have reopened. Though, schools resumed back early this year but the coronavirus affected the academic activities of schools. Universities in Nigeria faced a major setback in the educational system of Nigeria due to Coronavirus and ASUU strike. The ASUU strike and coronavirus have disrupted the academic calendar likewise academic activities. What I want to show my readers may aggravate them but it is for the safety of the students and lecturers likewise teachers.

The Federal Government needs to close down schools and universities in these 5 states. The reason is that the rate of coronavirus is increasing daily in these 5 states and it can affect the students. There is no how students won’t touch themselves or play with themselves or touch surfaces and even the washing of hands is not effective.

Safety of lives should be the first priority. If at all the schools and universities can’t be closed down in these 5 states, the government can adopt online teaching which would be the best and it would be effective and prevent students from contracting the coronavirus. I hope the Federal Government heed to this and we would defeat coronavirus.

Universities and schools in top 5 states (Lagos, FCT, Kaduna, Plateau, Oyo and Rivers) with the highest cases of covid-19 should be closed down or should adopt online teaching. What is your take on the information? Drop your comments.
