Being in love with your spouse necessitates that you love their family as well. Occasionally, daughters in law do not see eye to eye with their moms in laws. Hatred can result in the regret of terrible ideas.
It was November 24th, and Nono’s child, Owethu, returned from school very hungry. Apparently, she returned home and was immediately greeted by her grandmother (Gogo Ngubane), who then served her some meal made by Nono for Gogo Ngubane. However, she couldn’t bear the thought of her granddaughter going hungry while she had food to give her.
Later in the day, the toddler began vomiting continuously and complaining of stomach cramps. The grandmother began shouting for assistance from her neighbors, as she had no idea what was happening to her grandchild. She even attempted to contact the Owethu’s mother, whose whereabouts were unknown. Nono’s phone continued to ring and he eventually turned it off.
One of the neighbors summoned an ambulance to attend to the situation, which had already spiraled out of control and was beyond anyone’s control. When the ambulance arrived, it was already too late; the unfortunate youngster had died. Everyone was taken aback and couldn’t believe what they were hearing. While everyone was grieving, Nono arrived and declared, ‘Sewufile lomagogo losicefe,’ which translates as ‘that bothersome hag has died,’ but only if she was aware that she had stabbed herself with her knife.
When Nono heard the entire story, she burst into tears and screamed. She was inconsolable.
“Ma! Is it true that you fed my child the food that I prepared for you?” Nono fiercely inquires of her mother-in-law
