The dethroned traditional ruler of Kano Emirate in Kano State, Sanusi Lamido II, has got another appointment even though he is no longer on the throne of Kano Emirate. Mr. Sanusi Lamido, a former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) was removed in March, 2020 by the Kano State Government under Umar Ganduje.
Upon his dethronement, he was first banished to a remote village in Nassarawa State before he travelled to Lagos State. And he has been there since his shocking removal from the throne.
Today, 17 November, 2020, he is appointed as the pro chancellor of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti. His appointment and inauguration followed the ones he got from the Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai shortly after his removal from the coveted throne.
The university held its 24th convocation ceremony today in which over 11,000 graduates bagged different degrees. The Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi was present and he performed the inauguration of Sanusi Lamido II as the new pro chancellor of the university.
After his inauguration, Sanusi Lamido II said, “This appointment will only further encourage me to continue joining hands with him (Fayemi) as we seek to make contributions to resolving some of the intractable issues currently facing this country”.
According to the Punch Newspaper, Sanusi said he would join hands with the state governor, Fayemi, in order to solve issues facing the country.
