Members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect have killed Sunday Sule, a young Nigerian soldier.
Sule, 26, who hailed from Otukpo area of Benue State, was among the soldiers who paid the supreme price during one of the attacks by the insurgents on Sunday.
Famously known as Yobo or Ashavin because of his love for football, the young troop was enlisted into the Nigeria Army few years back with the aim of bringing a lasting peace to Nigeria.
Confirming the sad incident, the lawmaker representing Ewulo Ward, Hon. Ben Idah, said the deceased was his classmate.
He described his death as “another fall to Glory!”
Idah wrote, “I may hate the war, but never hate the ones that fight. For they do not choose when or where to fight. All they chose was to protect who they love and even the people they don’t know.
“Rest in perfect peace my brother, Soldier and former classmate.”
