The Aare Onakakanfo of Yoruba land, Chief Gani Adams has finally given the reasons why he did not join Sunday Igboho and others to partake in the Yoruba Nation rallies which took place across all Southwestern states.
Gani Adams revealed that when Sunday Adeyomo popularly known as Sunday Igboho started the protest across South West, he called him to tell him that he could not participate in any protest because of his position as “Aare”. He said he told Igboho that he had participated in the protest he would have spoilt an age-long Yoruba Tradition.
Gani Adams said that it would very bad if people were to hear that the Aare was teargassed at a protest ground. He made all this known in an interview with BBC News Yoruba.
The Aare further stated that his position as the “King of Warriors” is a position that is useful to all Yoruba Kings.
Recall that Sunday Igboho was declared wanted some days ago after the Department of State Security(DSS) raided his home in Oyo state and recovered Illegal arms and ammunition from his home.
